Koelnmesse Italy and the CompoArredo will set up a whole new format in an area dedicated to illumination, light components and applied domotics
Everyone is looking forward to in-person trade fairs, and especially to quality trade fairs. This is what the number of subscriptions for the next edition of Interzum, the leading trade fair for suppliers, components and semi-finished products for the furniture industry, tells us. The trade fair will be held in Cologne, 9-12 May 2023, and to the present day, despite the general sentiment of uncertainty and fear typical of the historical moment, everything suggests that it will be a great one. The fair will take place in little more than a year and in Cologne preparations are already underway to give a brand-new look to the event, so that it can satisfy the needs and expectations of exhibitors and visitors even better than in the past.
“Despite the difficult moment, we have been working at a fast pace for interzum 2023, and until now we have not felt any negative consequence”, says Thomas Rosolia, CEO of Koelnmesse Italy. “We have been receiving the same number of subscriptions from exhibitors as in the previous editions. This is a clear demonstration of the willingness to return to normality and of the desire to meet again in one of the biggest international centres for all branches related to the production of furniture and components”.
The first important change concerning the next Interzum involves the halls’ layout: in 2023, the brand-new hall “1Plus” will finally be ready. The new pavilion will give more space to companies that belong to the “Materials & Nature” segment, which will therefore occupy, in addition to the new space, halls 4.2, 5.2 and 6. The “Function & Components” segment will occupy, as in the past, halls 3.2, 5.1, 7 and 8, with the addition of hall 10.2. The “Textile & Machinery” segment will remain in halls 9, 10.1., 11.1 and 11.2. Additional space will be given specifically to those segments which have been showing an extremely positive trend, and, among other things, it will allow visitors to have their preferred product categories at their disposal, in a more rational and organized way.
Right in hall 10.2 and for the first time, Koelnmesse Italy, in collaboration with Staff Editoriale – CompoArredo, will set up an entire area dedicated to illumination, components and demotics: LCD – Light + Components + Demotics.
For many years now, Interzum, the international leading trade fair for furniture production and interior construction, has been the meeting place for many and famous exhibitors from the lighting sector. Companies such as Domus Line, L&S, Forma&Funzione, Asa Plastici, Diviemme, Gera Leuchten and Hera have been offering, for several editions now, technologically advanced solutions to equip kitchens, bathrooms and general furniture with an integrated lighting.
“With the arrival of LED and the related miniaturization of luminaires”, explains Federico Galluzzi, Editor of CompoArredo, “what initially represented a simple need to insert basic spotlights and neon tubes inside wardrobes or under-cabinets, has now become a primary and vital need. Particularly, it has been transformed into the need to equip our homes with a kind of lighting which is precisely thought for the spaces we live in, and which aims at creating increasingly exclusive furnishing solutions. The new format will therefore offer the possibility to delve further into the aspect of lighting design, through the examination of lighting components, of new lighting installations and of the demotics to be inserted across different furnishing contexts”.
