SIA 2022, design opens up to outdoor vacations

1 June 2022

From 12th to 14th October at Rimini expo centre

The open-air tourism cluster enters SIA Hospitality Design 2022.  Increasingly close to the hotel industry, as far as living standards, supplies and entrepreneurial spirit are concerned, the camping chain finds a new role at the 71st edition of the Italian Exhibition Group expo, which, simultaneously with TTG Travel Experience and SUN Beach&Outdoor Style, brings life to Italy’s important tourism marketplace and is being held from 12th to 14th October at Rimini expo centre.

IEG has inked an agreement with FAITA Federcamping with ambitious aims. At the Rimini expo, exhibitors and visitors will find the Camping & Village area, dedicated to the camping and glamping worlds and new trends in outdoor hospitality, which will thus be separated from seaside tourism and finds a new setting in SIA Hospitality Design. The expo is once more returning with the Design Arena, connected with issues of design, contract and services, which this year puts a special accent on the personalization of products and services and on technological evolution. Alongside the products and services on show, there are also the events of the Main Arena, with the participation of institutional guests and the sector’s key players. These include Federalberghi, whose steering council is meeting precisely at the expo.

Another important new feature this year is the attention being paid to professional training. The hospitality world is evolving and SIA, by means of accredited training partners, intends providing a place for the training of true Hospitality Innovators, entrepreneurs and professionals who anticipate trends and contribute to the sector’s development. Once again this year, hospitality design is constructed at the Rimini expo, which features four exhibitions conceived to inspire industry members. The Room Exhibition will host six mock-ups of hotel rooms entrusted to the skilful hands of contractors who will interpret new trends, transforming them into projects. The second exhibition, dedicated to Wellness, is by architect Simone Micheli and will give an example of what it means nowadays to dedicate space to relaxation and individual wellness following current “rituals”. New technologies and services for hotels will be featured in the Hotel in Motion, exhibition, while the Camping & Village area will host the Glamping Exhibition, which will show how the style of open-air vacations has evolved by means of the quality of services and cutting-edge materials.

The expo will be held simultaneously with TTG and SUN, which along with SIA this year intend highlighting the present and future of tourism, increasingly “without restrictions” of space and time and is opening up to unexplored possibilities. In fact, the theme of the 2022 edition of the three expos is ”Unbound”: a leitmotif that presents an industry wanting to widen its horizons and go beyond conventions, exceeding the traditional concept of vacations.
