In Pordenone from 17th to 20th October to find out where design is going and what will be the trends and novelties that will mark the 2024 international furniture season
It is yet another sold out edition of SICAM 2023 which awaits everyone from 17th to 20th October in Pordenone (Italy). The fair will present its visitors and exhibitors with a great novelty: a renewed and important structure in the central part of the Fairgrounds, additional three thousand square meters of space for stands and services. A new exhibition structure connected directly to the Central Entrance. Visiting all the SICAM 2023 exhibition stands is even easier and faster: the new layout in the central area of the Exhibition Center also features further connection points with the halls of the two side blocks, for an increasingly smooth and fluid visit. The typical sober and elegant atmosphere of the halls, which has always been SICAM’s stylistic signature, is therefore proposed again this year, unchanged in its effectiveness and elegance and extended to the new spaces in hall 5: it is the hallmark of the Show, which makes the permanence between the stands pleasant and makes the meeting between the professionals in the fair easy.
The format of the Salone, whose validity has been extensively tested over the years, is confirmed and therefore appears unchanged in its guidelines: in the sober and refined atmosphere for which SICAM has become a must recognized and appreciated everywhere, furniture professionals expecting visitors from all over the world will find the usual services available for them at the fair aimed at create new meeting opportunities, even in moments of relaxation between one appointment and another, perhaps at the bar or the restaurant. The loyalty of the professionals who meet every year at SICAM is the most direct confirmation of the validity of the Pordenone appointment in terms of business. The 2022 edition brought 8,475 registered companies from five continents to visit the 590 exhibiting companies: over 42% of the professionals present came from abroad, from as many as 116 different countries. 72% of the total visitors came from the main European markets, with Germany, Spain and France registering the largest foreign presence. Participations from Asian markets are also growing, among which (in a year in which health restrictions have still kept Chinese operators away) the presence of Indian, Turkish and Korean buyers has emerged.
“This year we are about to open a SICAM which will be a moment of fundamental discussion within the furniture supply chain – says Carlo Giobbi, organizer and founder of the Salone – When we hear that the world furniture industry that counts meets every year in Pordenone we have to make some considerations: once again this year the rate of reconfirmations of exhibiting companies is well over the threshold of 90% compared to the last edition, and at the same time the return to the fair of important companies in various sectors also clearly emerges; we cannot fail to think that it is clear evidence of how the market appreciates the validity of the Salone, the efficacy of its formula and the value of the people who meet in Pordenone”.
In fact, this year again SICAM is presented in October as the key appointment of the year to understand the new trends, and to get to know and identify the most current innovations in terms of components and accessories for the furniture industry. October is the ideal timing to make the best choices for next season: this is why every year SICAM showcases the latest innovations in materials, design and technologies, those that will be most appreciated at the International Furniture Shows of the following spring around the world. As always, thousands of visiting professionals are expected in Pordenone next October, from over a hundred countries from all over the world; and the forecasts are for an increasingly higher turnout, especially from abroad: confirming expectations in this direction are the adhesions and registrations that have already arrived on the event website in recent months, much more numerous than the past.
SICAM’s organizational team has greatly streamlined the reception procedures at the fair: in fact, with online registration, each visitor can comfortably obtain, at home and well in advance, his personal QR code which will allow him to print the fair entrance badge: he can also save it directly on his wallet on his smartphone, an extra convenience. Because at SICAM time is precious, and everything is organized to make the most of every moment that furniture industry professionals will spend at the fair: from streamlined entry procedures, to the new layout that guides them through each hall without making them lose even a stand, restaurant services and bars for a quick stop and perhaps for informal meetings with colleagues, customers and suppliers from all over the world.
