After more than two years of waiting the leading international trade event for the lighting and building services technology industry takes place at Messe Frankfurt. Ushio\u2019s Care222\u00ae component will appear alongside the complete solutions offered by UV Medico, which integrates Ushio\u2019s technology into its UV222\u2122 series of disinfection modules.<\/p>\n<p>Conventional 254 nm UV disinfection lamps, while highly-effective, penetrate deeper tissue layers and cause mutations that lead to serious illnesses, such as skin cancer and cataracts. This makes 254 nm UV unsuitable for occupied spaces, which is why Ushio developed Care222\u00ae technology specifically for that purpose. Devices with Ushio\u2019s Care222\u00ae filtered excimer lamps, such as UV Medico\u2019s UV222\u2122 series, emit far UV-C in the 200\u2013230 nm band, with a dominant peak at 222 nm. This UV band does not penetrate the top layer of skin or the cornea of the eye, so<strong> it does not cause any mutations in exposed individuals<\/strong>.
