Luce Orizzontale is a top-of-the-range, state-of-the-art object playing with the uncommon effect of<strong> light reflection from cast glass elements<\/strong>. Although designed for both the residential and contract markets, it presents an out of the ordinary level of <strong>craftsmanship quality<\/strong>. Craftsmanship is first and foremost seen in the details. Each cylinder is made by hand by pouring the glass into a mold: the glassmaker\u2019s movements creating signs on the glass that make each piece unique.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abIt is not a technical glass\u00bb, explain Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, \u00abbut an ever-changing material, inserted in aluminum extrusions. The result we wanted to achieve was precise but also fluctuating and vibrant\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Luce Orizzontale is <strong>modular<\/strong>: the range includes three configurations of 8, 10 or 12 cast glass cylinders, suspended and interconnected to form structures of different lengths. The glass cylinders rest on a primary polished aluminum bar which is the supporting axis of the lamp. The light sources are inserted in the bar (a strip of LEDs that gives light upwards and one that pushes it downwards). The touch dimmer, compatible with Dali and Push Dim systems, is positioned at one end of the bar.<\/p>\n<p>Luce Orizzontale, which has a range of dimensions that varies from just over one and a half meters to almost two and a half meters, was designed to illuminate rectangular tables in private residences as well as meeting rooms.
