There is a light that does not come from a switch, but from an experience. A glow that does not simply light up, but vibrates, tells, crosses. It is the light that animates Marcello Ballardini<\/strong>\u2019s works, a performer artist who transforms fibreglass into luminous sculptures with an ancestral breath. Not design objects, not furnishing accessories, but unique works of art, created to speak to the heart through form, light and sound.<\/p>\n

His story began many years ago on the other side of the world, in Australia, where a trip of a few weeks turned into a year of life shared with an Aboriginal community. That’s where the spark comes from. And it is there that Marcello meets the didjeridoo<\/em>, an ancient sacred instrument<\/strong>, not only to be played but to be heard, to be built with respect and awareness, following rituals that have their roots in the earth and in time. That deep, primordial sound opened a gap in him. A creative channel through which each work takes shape as an extension of nature and memory.<\/p>\n

The didjeridoo thus becomes muse and medium, symbol and substance of a visual and sound language that evolves into sculpture, light, and art. His fibreglass creations do not limit themselves to evoking the original object, but transform its essence. They come to life as light sculptures<\/strong>, each different, vibrant. Lines that evoke sound, surfaces that capture light, transparencies that seem to breathe. Objects that seem to have come out of an archaic but perfectly contemporary dream, objects that do not limit themselves to furnishing, but inhabit the space with an almost spiritual presence. Each work is a unique piece of art, the result of an artisanal and deeply personal process. Nothing is serial or replicated. There is the artist’s gesture, his listening, the memory of the crossed places. There is a link with ancient wisdom, but also the tension towards an aesthetic that speaks to today’s sensibilities, poised between primitive art and modern minimalism.<\/p>\n

In a world where LED light is often thought of as a function, Ballardini returns it to its original role: that of revealing. To illuminate not only spaces, but also emotions.<\/p>\n

“When I create, I’m not just making an object,”<\/em> says Marcello, “I’m telling a story. Mine. That of the aborigines. A story that anyone can take home to relive in any environment.”<\/em><\/p>\n

And so, looking at one of his works – bright, vibrant, alive – one realises that it is not only art to look at, but to feel. Because every light, curvature, silence engraved in matter, seems to speak of something we have forgotten… and that perhaps, thanks to the LED, we can finally remember.<\/p>\n
