The new wall lamp created in collaboration with Studio Marco Piva
Lodes is proud to introduce Shift, the new wall lamp that blends minimalist design with impressive light output. Designed in collaboration with Studio Marco Piva, Shift stands out for its sleek simplicity and neutral finishes, enabling it to merge seamlessly into its surroundings, almost disappearing to let the light take centre stage, enhancing and encouraging its interplay with the space. Shift is inspired by the clean, strict lines of contemporary architecture, but softens the volumes with slightly rounded corners. Compact and discreet, it redefines the concept of a wall lamp, effectively illuminating any room while fitting harmoniously into the space as a refined, minimalist complement.
“One of the most remarkable features of Shift is its advanced technology. At its core, the lamp incorporates innovative solutions that optimise LED light emission, using its geometric shape to maximise light output. That is why it is above all a powerful tool capable of fully illuminating a room without needing additional light sources, enhancing and fostering the interaction between light and space.” Explains Marco Piva, Architect.
The completely black internal structure accentuates the power of the light beam, which can exceed 5000 lumens and is available in 2700 K or 3000 K temperature options. It also ensures uniform, high-quality light emission, while the LED source is strategically positioned to prevent unwanted shadows on the wall caused by light reflecting off the lamp body. Shift is crafted from aluminium and comes in two versions: Small (17 cm in length) and Large (34 cm in length), both with a depth of 15 cm and a height of 4 cm. Four sophisticated finishes – matte black, matte white, extra matte champagne, and the new natural brown – enhance the lamp’s sleek and minimalist design, fitting effortlessly into any space.
The lamp is supplied with two interchangeable screens: a transparent screen pre-assembled, and a sandblasted screen that can be easily swapped in. The sandblasted screen customises the light’s diffusion, creating a more even glow on the wall with reduced light spread throughout the space. Thanks to its powerful output, Shift can independently illuminate medium-sized spaces such as a hotel bedroom or residential living room, delivering high-performance lighting with an elegant and restrained presence. It is also ideal for stairwells and corridors, where it can be installed in repetition, as well as spaces with low ceilings and exposed beams that require highlighting. When positioned laterally, near a wall, it creates a captivating interplay of light.
Reflecting on the new collaboration, Lodes Managing Director Massimiliano Tosetto commented: “We are thrilled to collaborate with Studio Marco Piva on this new lamp, expanding Lodes’ portfolio to seamlessly integrate with a wide range of environments. Shift’s luminous efficiency is ideal for a variety of environments, including spaces with low ceilings and exposed beams that need to be accentuated.”
