Buzzi & Buzzi illuminates a private villa designed by Ponce de León Barragan Arquitectos
Baja California Sur is a land of striking contrasts—rugged mountains, sun-drenched deserts, and endless, shimmering sea views. In this dramatic setting, Buzzi & Buzzi had the privilege of illuminating a private villa designed by Ponce de León Barragan Arquitectos, where nature, architecture, and light merge in perfect harmony.
Floor-to-ceiling glass walls slide away into hidden pockets, transforming living spaces into open-air pavilions that embrace the sweeping desert horizon.
Buzzi & Buzzi chose the Twin Genius Naked fixtures for their ability to disappear seamlessly into the reclaimed teak ceilings, leaving only two subtle 20 mm apertures that reveal themselves when lit. The company’s goal: to accentuate the villa’s captivating textures without ever overshadowing them.
In the main living areas, Buzzi & Buzzi opted for Taurus spotlights—minimalist yet highly versatile. Their precision beams bring focus to artworks and key design elements, reflecting Buzzi & Buzzi’s commitment to seamless, unobtrusive integration. With adjustable angles and discreet profiles, they enhance the space while remaining an elegant supporting player in the overall design.
The villa’s terraces flow into the desert landscape, so the S1 projectors adapt seamlessly to the contours of cacti and rock formations. Thanks to their 360° adjustable rod, they illuminate paths and outdoor living areas with pinpoint accuracy, allowing residents and guests to linger under starry skies without losing that sense of tranquil immersion.
At Buzzi & Buzzi lighting is a subtle yet powerful storytelling element—an invisible but essential presence that frames architecture and enriches its surroundings. In this Baja California Sur project, the company is proud to have contributed to a home where boundaries fade and every space brings you closer to nature.
