GSE and ASSIL: agreement on the lighting supply chain decarbonisation

7 April 2025

The Energy Services Manager (GSE) and the National Association of Lighting Manufacturers (ASSIL) signed an institutional collaboration agreement to support the supply chain decarbonisation and the market through the support of the lighting industry. The agreement will have a dual purpose: on the one hand, in line with the objectives of the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC) and the measures envisaged by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), it will promote the spread of renewable sources, the growth of self-consumption configurations for the sharing of renewable energy and the energy efficiency of the real estate assets and production assets of ASSIL member companies.

On the other hand, in line with the aforementioned sustainable development goals, the Association will be committed to GSE to promote and disseminate knowledge among the market of innovative lighting system management systems for public and private real estate asset renewal.

Paolo Arrigoni, President of GSE, underlined: “The agreement with ASSIL is a fundamental step in accelerating the transition to a more sustainable lighting industry. This collaboration reinforces our commitment to promoting solutions that integrate technological innovation and energy efficiency, helping to reduce the sectors’ environmental impact. I am convinced that, thanks to this agreement, new opportunities will open up to transform the sector into a virtuous model of decarbonisation, in perfect harmony with national and European guidelines”.

Carlo Comandini, President of ASSIL, remarked: “Increasing the promotion of energy efficiency in all areas is fundamental for industry. In this context, we are happy with the start of the collaboration with the GSE aimed at transferring best practices and implementing cutting-edge technologies in line with the objectives of Transition 5.0. Digitization promotion and quality lighting are fundamental assets for efficiency but also to improve well-being and visual comfort in every application area.”

With a view to continuous improvement, ASSIL will collaborate with GSE to promote the best technologies for lighting digitization and to keep the incentive mechanisms technologically updated.
