twO by Laminam in the ADI Design Index 2025 selection

4 May 2026

Laminam wins entry to the 2025 edition of the ADI Design Index with the twO project, selected in the “Design of materials and technological systems” category, which comprises a choice group of 21 projects that represent excellence and innovation on the contemporary Italian design scene, as well as a tangible commitment to environmental and social sustainability.

In the prestige setting of the ADI Design Museum in Milan, ADI – Associazione per il Disegno Industriale has presented the latest edition of its Index, curated by the ADI Permanent Design Observatory. Every year, the publication brings together the best Italian projects selected on the basis of design quality, innovative value and social and environmental impact on the Italian production and cultural system. The selection is also the first step towards Italy’s top design prize, the ADI Compasso d’Oro 2026 Award.

The projects were chosen under the guidance of the Advisory Committee comprising Makio Hasuike, Domenico Sturabotti, Laura Traldi and Francesco Zurlo, leading figures representing different areas of experience and currents within the design world. In a more and more sectorial context, the ADI Design Index’s approach favours a broader, more all-embracing vision, which provides a complete overview of the many facets of contemporary Italian design.

With twO, Laminam confirms its commitment to the research and development of state-of-the-art ceramic solutions that combine impeccable aesthetics, technical performance and sustainability. Inclusion in the ADI Design Index 2025 is a major recognition of the brand’s design quality and Laminam’s pioneering know-how applied to materials. But that’s not all. Like the other winners in the selection process, twO meets one of the criteria considered fundamental for success: sustainability. Both environmental and social” sustainability, as ADI Design Index Committee member Francesco Zurlo underlined, which makes twO’s development a real turning point in the world of ceramic surfaces.

Technology is sublimated into creativity with sustainability at its heart: the slender thickness – just 2 millimetres – reduces raw material use and optimises the product’s entire lifecycle. The slabs, created with raw materials of natural origin, with a high recycled material content, are 100% recyclable at end-of-life. As well as saving materials, resources and emissions, twO optimises freight, cutting weight and bulk by 50%. This means twice the product can be carried on every journey and less packaging material is needed, with a positive impact throughout the logistics chain.

“The ADI Design Index doesn’t only select the finest products: it also provides a broad survey of all the many facets of Italian design, expressing the variety and excellence of our production and cultural system,” Francesco Zurlo commented during the evening.
