As natural as stone and rich in history

“Pietra di cardoso nero”, the stylish new finish by Laminam with in-side technology

“Pietra di Cardoso Nero”, the new Laminam finish with IN-SIDE technology (available in the two versions “Naturale” and “Fiammato”), draws inspiration from the dark grey sandstone of the same name extracted from the granite rocks taken from the mountains around the town of Cardoso in the province of Lucca, Tuscany. Still visible today in old medieval towns, Cardoso stone has been in use since ancient times for its strength, ease of processing and elegant colours. Laminam draws on these qualities and highlights them in the new “Pietra di Cardoso Nero” slabs, produced using raw materials with a variable grain size, mixed together to obtain the aesthetic and tactile effects of the natural stone but with much higher levels of technical performance and versatility.

Moreover, through the innovative IN-SIDE technology, the new Laminam finish ensures continuity of texture even once the slabs have been adapted to specific furniture or architectural needs. This revolution makes it possible to process the slabs as required, seamlessly evening out the edges and the surface, as occurs with the natural stone. The IN-SIDE series also overcomes the concept of front and rear as, when duly processed, the back of the slabs is enhanced and can be left visible. This is no small advantage, as can be seen in the kitchen displayed in the Laminam showroom in Milan, where both the inner and outer sides of the top-mount sink (both of which are visible) are aesthetically identical.

The new “Pietra di Cardoso Nero” finish is part of the IN-SIDE series of slabs produced with the innovative IN-SIDE technology which gives the collection its name. Laminam’s research, both industry-wide and on ceramic surfaces, has allowed the Italian company – increasingly focusing on new technological, aesthetic and commercial achievements – to launch a series of innovative slabs that ensure continuity of texture between their mass, edges and surfaces even after being processed (cut, drilled, edged) to suit the specific needs of architects, designers and end customers.

Laminam’s ceramic slabs are known worldwide for their hygiene and their resistance to scratches, impact, stains, chemical products, heat, frost and UV rays. With IN-SIDE, the Italian company also responds to the needs of an increasingly refined and elegant customer base – comprising private individuals and architecture, interior design and furniture professionals – which requires first-rate technical performance alongside superior aesthetic quality and the possibility of adapting the slabs according to their requirements without any limitation.
