An exclusive residential project in Casablanca
ITALAMP, a historic Made in Italy lighting company that has been interpreting light in a new way since 1975 with high-end creations for the home and contract sectors, has once again distinguished itself by taking part in an extraordinary residential project in Casablanca, Morocco.
The two-storey villa, designed by architect Mouna Bennai, who chose the brand as a mouthpiece for Italian lighting design, represents the perfect fusion of a modern residence and the soul of Middle Eastern architecture. The external structure, characterised by geometric lines and a minimalist aesthetic, conceals refined Moorish-style details inside: shapes, heights, decorations and colours evoke the elegance of the Arabian style in all its nuances. Characterising elements include the prayer room, large living areas designed to accommodate numerous guests, ceilings worked with jali inlay techniques and the majlis. The result is a perfect balance of tradition and contemporaneity, emphasised by ITALAMP’s lighting designs, which lend majesty and character to the rooms. Already in the outdoor area there are several FATA MORGANA wall lamps – design Edward Van Vliet – which are inspired by traditional lanterns, with a light gold finish and a carved crystal diffuser to provide a soft lighting effect.
At the main entrance stands the striking KALEIDO REVA, a real cascade of light evoking drops suspended in the air, welcoming guests with a play of reflections and dynamism. The same composition, in different finishes, has also been chosen to illuminate the stairs leading to the upper floor, emphasising the architecture. It continues in the corridor with a series of custom DOTTO wall lights, a metal model with an essential design in a gold finish with a decorative crystal detail. In the living room on the ground floor, light becomes the protagonist with KALEIDO SELLA, an extremely elegant composition that lends both dynamism and lightness thanks to its thin, hand-crafted striped glass leaves in transparent, acid-etched, teak and amber finishes. ITALAMP’s crystal chandeliers, emblems of classic Italian design, create a striking contrast to the style of the interior. CHANEL – design Roberta Vitadello and Stefano Traverso – is the majestic hand-carved clear crystal and glass suspension with 40 lights and customised lampshades in anthracite fabric that lends allure to the environment in which pointed arches and large windows alternate harmoniously. Also appearing as a wall lamp next to the carved wooden door.
Hero product of majlis is DOGMA – design Italamp Studio – a carved crystal and glass suspension with a metal structure with a gold finish, crystal pendants and floral glass details that enhance the combination of craftsmanship and refined elegance of the brand’s know-how. To ensure maximum ambient lighting, ITALAMP has created a series of customised wall lights inspired by the distinctive elements of the ADRIA AND CROWNS series.
The CRONO suspension lamp – design Roberta Vitadello and Stefano Traverso – with a metal structure with a satin gold finish, a gold metal diffuser and etched glass pendants, has been chosen to embellish the modern, understated dining room. On the first floor, the bright corridor is embellished by the VOGUE wall lights – design Italamp Studio – elegant wall lamps made of carved crystal and ribbed glass, with a metal structure with bronze finish, dove grey fabric diffuser and crystal pendants. One of the most prominent rooms is the prayer room, full of decorations and precious materials such as gold, marble and carved wood, where there’s a MARGOT chandelier – design Roberta Vitadello – a crystal and art glass suspension with customised lampshades in dove grey fabric. This chandelier provides a suggestive atmosphere with a light that warms the room. The master rooms of the house also host two unique pieces by ITALAMP.
The master bedroom hosts 8038, a table lamp in carved crystal and yellow pleated fabric diffuser, while the master bathroom is illuminated by AIRONE, an original metal suspension lamp with satin teak glass leaves and nickel gold metal finish. A true jewel of craftsmanship that gives a touch of exclusivity and modernity to the decor.
Thanks to its consolidated experience and ability to interpret light with always innovative solutions, ITALAMP once again confirms its leading role in the international lighting design scene, bringing the charm and value of Italian craftsmanship to projects of the highest level.
