Two days for updating, meeting and conversing

14 September 2026

On November 11th and 12th, Architect@Work returns to Milan at the Allianz MiCo.

The event is designed for architects, interior designers and design professionals, featuring selected products, accredited seminars, installations and research on materials. Professionals working in design deal with an ever-increasing amount of information on a daily basis: new materials, technologies, construction solutions, regulations, digital tools. Staying up to date is indispensable, but finding the time to delve deeper into what really matters is often intricate.

This is also why Architect@Work continues to carve out its unique position in the architecture-focused events world.

On November 11th and 12th, 2026, the event returns to the Allianz MiCo in Milan, keeping a focus on content selection and quality. Indeed, participating companies present innovations evaluated by an independent technical committee, allowing visitors to concentrate on a curated overview of products, materials, and application solutions. For designers, the visit thus becomes an occasion to detect emerging industry trends up close, engage directly with manufacturers and companies, and delve into topics that often reach professional studios only through catalogues, samples, or online presentations. Alongside the exhibition area, the event hosts a cultural program dedicated to the transformations shaping the contemporary architecture and design world.

Talk program

in conversation with Architect Maria Di Benedetto, expert in monument regeneration and restoration

Managing Complexity. The role of integrated design in the adaptive reuse of historic complexes.

Working on a historic complex means contending with a layered set of constraints – conservation, structure, building systems, and regulations, that must be managed simultaneously from the project's very early stages. It is in this ability that integrated design and digital construction sites demonstrate their most tangible value, enabling the future to be designed before construction begins: software and digital technologies help forecast costs, material wear, and environmental impact even before the first brick is laid.

4:30 pm

Arch. Vittorio Grassi, Founder, Vittorio Grassi Architects

in conversation with Mirko Tironi, Co-founder & Co-CEO of LUMI Asset Management

Reinterpreting memory, designing the future. Genertel offices in Trieste.

Each existing building represents a heritage of energy, memory and identity. The task of architecture and real estate development is not to replace it, but to give buildings a second life by enhancing what already exists.

Thursday, 12th November, 1:30 pm

Talk organised by Fondazione dell'Ordine degli Architetti P.P.C. della Provincia di Milano.

3:00 p.m.

Arch. Ico Migliore, Co-founder Migliore+Servetto

in conversation with Matteo Morandi, President of Fondazione Morandi

It should not just work! What Makes a Project Matter?

All professionals know how to design a building body: structure, envelope, details, and performance. But what transforms an accurate project into a meaningful one? Through this talk, Ico Migliore attempts to answer a seemingly simple question: does a project have only a body, or does it also have a soul?

4:30 pm

Arch. Alessandro Scandurra, Founder, Scandurra Studio

in conversation with Hans Martin Pohl, President of Pohl Immobilien

Architecture of possibilities. The value of architecture is measured by what it allows to follow.

Architecture is not merely the building's shape, but above all the space of prospects it can generate; its true value is measured by what it allows to happen. Starting from this vision, the talk presents The Blooming District case study, the urban regeneration project breathing new life into Brescia’s former warehouses, transforming them, without demolition, into a new integrated complex featuring student housing, a hotel, and residential units.

All the seminars offer the possibility of earning professional training credits, providing an additional reason for dedicating a few hours to the visit.

SPAZIO VIVO is the theme chosen for the 2026 edition: a reflection on the increasingly dynamic nature of contemporary environments. Spaces that evolve, respond to human behaviour, and engage in a dialogue with their surroundings, requiring a design approach able to address this constant transformation.

From that premise also takes shape Action & Reaction, the exhibition curated by Baolab that explores the behaviour of contemporary materials.

The very idea of transformation runs through the work of Raffaele Salvoldi, the featured artist for the 2026 edition's art project. His installations, created through a complex balance of elements, assembled without permanent fixings, are temporary structures destined to change over time.

But Architect@Work is also a meeting point for a professional community that rarely has the chance to pause and exchange ideas away from daily deadlines. Between conferences and visits to exhibitors, in the lounge areas and along the exhibition route, conversations often shift from products to projects, and from construction details to the typical issues the profession has to face. This is likely one of the aspects that many visitors appreciate most: the possibility to dedicate a few hours not only to what they are designing now, but also to what they will work on tomorrow.
