Fael LUCE protagonist at WE LIGHT THE SPORT: light at the heart of the sport in the future
In the context of the technical, cultural and design challenges that cross the world of sports lighting, Fael LUCE confirms its leadership by participating in We Light The Sport, the initiative promoted by ASSIL – Associazione Nazionale Produttori Illuminazione. The first stage of the event is scheduled on February 19 in Milan at Assolombarda. Two other appointments will follow in April in Verona, and in June in Rome. The event is proposed as a reference point for the lighting sector in relation to the world of sport, advanced technologies and the opportunities that the sector will offer in the coming years, also in view of major international events such as the Winter Olympics.
We Light The Sport was born to create a space for dialogue between companies, designers, institutions and operators in the world of sports and technology, with a focus on lighting solutions able to combine visual performance, energy efficiency, lighting systems’ smart management and sustainability. Challenges that Fael LUCE has been facing for years, translating them into concrete projects, in Italy and worldwide. In contemporary sports facilities, light is not limited to guaranteeing the levels of illuminance required by regulations. It becomes an experience key element, safety and visual involvement, able to support athletic performance, quality of television footage and public enjoyment. It is a light that guides the eye, enhances the architecture and ignites emotions.
This vision takes shape in some of the most significant international projects by Fael LUCE.
At the Grand Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca, Morocco, lighting is strategic and precise: high-efficiency LEDMASTER ONE HP luminaires guarantee uniformity and perfect visibility, reducing consumption and transforming every sporting event into a high-level show, both live and live on television.
In Norway, at the Vår Energi Arena Sola, light becomes a dialogue with the city. The lighting system with LEDMASTER TWO HP not only illuminates the field, but enhances the entire sports complex as an open, flexible and welcoming urban space, capable of hosting competitions, training sessions and social events.
An emblematic example of the integration of technology and advanced control is the Spyros Kyprianou Limassol Arena in Cyprus. Here, Fael LUCE has designed an advanced lighting system, with LEDMASTER TWO HP projectors equipped with symmetrical and asymmetrical optics, integrated with the WISE system and DMX management. The result is uniform, glare-free and fully automated light, which allowed the UEFA Level A certified arena to shine during EuroBasket 2025, offering an immersive experience for athletes and spectators.
Light as a tool for social regeneration also emerges strongly in the Illumina Caivano project, carried out in collaboration with Sport and Health. Here, the former sports centre is reborn as a safe, inclusive and vital place for the community. Lighting is not only functional, but becomes a symbol of rebirth, participation and shared future.
In Spain, the Bilbao Kirolak project, on the other hand, tells the story of lighting designed for the well-being of those who experience sport daily. LEDMASTER JUST luminaires ensure visual comfort and optimal colour rendering in indoor and outdoor spaces, accompanying every athletic gesture with precise, balanced and reliable light.
Fael LUCE’s participation in WE LIGHT THE SPORT with Platinum recognition is not just a simple institutional presence, but testifies to the company’s commitment to promoting a conscious evolution of sports lighting. An active role in the dissemination of the culture of light applied to sport, where technology, design and efficiency become tools to build increasingly high-performance, connected and sustainable facilities.
With WE LIGHT THE SPORT, ASSIL opens a central discussion on the future of sports lighting in Italy and beyond national borders. Fael LUCE is at the forefront of telling and building this evolution, because lighting up sport means igniting emotions, performance and community.
