Martinelli Luce lights up the MODE HOTEL in Rimini

9 April 2026

Inaugurated last October in Rimini, the MODE ECO MOOD HOTEL is a project involving 13 of the most prominent architecture studios in the hospitality sector, each invited to present their own interpretation of sustainable design. The result of the redevelopment of the former Hotel Arlesiana in San Giuliano Mare, MODE HOTEL was created as a permanent laboratory for experimentation in the hospitality field: every space—from the nine suites to the co-working area and the lobby—offers a unique experience that reflects the sustainable design vision of the thirteen participating studios.

Martinelli Luce, always a promoter of innovation, experimentation, and technological research, is part of this project with its lighting fixtures—from historic creations to the most recent designs—which illuminate various areas of the hotel, fully embodying the project’s innovative values and vision.

On the ground floor, Minipipistrello POP, the bold and vibrant reinterpretation of the iconic lamp, brings a touch of color to the “Stay cosy in una second life” concept by Laura Verdi, perfectly complementing the space’s philosophy of creative reuse and its nature-inspired organic shapes.

In the Estate Italiana Suite, designed by Paola Navone and Gianpaolo Venier of OTTO Studio with art direction by Cristina Pettenuzzo, the Eva floor lamp—a reinterpretation of the traditional lampshade—joins Kiki, a suspension lamp with an ironic twist suitable for both indoor and outdoor spaces. Together, they contribute to the storytelling of the carefree spirit of summer vacations on the Riviera, evoked throughout the suite.

The Profiterolle floor lamp, a refined and sinuous combination of geometric solids and circles, illuminates the Sensi Suite designed by Ovre.design®, enhancing the intimate, multisensory atmosphere of the suite’s experiential concept and its emotional impact.

For the Mini’mor Suite, Alessia Galimberti Studio selected the minimalist Lunaop and Kokouno pendant lamps, along with the iconic Elica and Minipipistrello, the latter in its cordless version. This composition blends classic and contemporary elements, enriching a project designed to give guests maximum space and flexibility according to their needs.

With a long-standing presence in the hospitality sector, Martinelli Luce collaborates with internationally renowned architects and designers as a trusted partner to create custom, evocative lighting projects. Over the years, the company has contributed to numerous high-profile projects, developing bespoke solutions for the most demanding environments. Examples include the Lily of the Valley Hotel in France, designed by Philippe Starck, where Martinelli Luce’s Polo suspension system enhances the scenographic vision of luxury hospitality, or the Centro Soggiorno San Servolo Hotel in Venice, designed by Alfonso Femia, where the Ciulifruli pendants bring character to the island’s spaces.
