Martinelli Luce is the official sponsor of “Marble Does Not Melt”, the work by artist and architect Theodorico Napolitano that transforms a visual paradox into a powerful reflection on our times.
The sculpture, a Lasa marble icicle caught in the impossible act of melting, is enhanced by Martinelli Luce lighting to highlight the veining of the material, the depth of the volumes and the expressive power of the work. The lighting design supports the perception of the work, enhancing surfaces and volumes and emphasising the contrast between the permanent nature of marble and the transitory character evoked by the sculpture.
“Marble Does Not Melt” is a project supported by MILGEM, GRUPPO SPA S.r.l. and Martinelli Luce, and is part of the Milan Cortina 2026 Cultural Olympics. The exhibition will be held at the ADI Design Museum in Milan, Piazza Compasso d’Oro 1, from 2 February to 29 March 2026.
