At the foot of Monte Rosa, in the heart of the Val d’Ayas, stands the imposing Monte Cervino Hotel. Built in 1930, on the initiative of Alessandro Favre, at a time when Champoluc was becoming a destination for summer tourism, the building’s architecture is an example of traditional Alpine style, which perfectly integrates with the surrounding landscape. From the stone cladding, to the typical wooden balconies – red and white – whose windows offer panoramic mountain views, the height of the attic building stems from the need to make the most of the steep terrain, and thus to obtain a sufficient number of rooms for guests who, in the 50s, thanks to the construction of the first ski lifts, begin to choose the hotel also for their winter holidays. Run by the same family for four generations, the hotel now offers 22 rooms and, while preserving the authenticity of the original structure, has recently renovated the floors dedicated to hospitality with a modern and innovative design. A surprising dialogue between past and present welcomes the guests. On the ground floor, the common areas preserve the warmth of memory, enveloped in intimate atmospheres and details that evoke the place’s history. On the upper floors, the experience changes perspective: suspended beds, larch coverings, the rooms with an essential contemporary design, envelop the guest in a modern comfort that renews tradition through the harmonious use of natural materials and technology.
And it is precisely in this context that Vimar fits in, offering a concrete example of system integration; in particular, the By-me Plus home automation system was chosen to synergistically manage lighting, temperature and control of electricity consumption. To complete the system, the multisensor of Linea‘s XT platform, in its black version, integrates the controls for climate management and the thermostat and humidistat functions. Equipped with four sensors and an LED matrix for monitoring environmental parameters, the device allows for detecting indoor and outdoor temperature, relative humidity and air quality. Inside the rooms, the card inserted in the transponder pocket activates the utilities (lights, power sockets and climate), optimising not only the temperature and light balance for optimal energy savings, but also promoting sustainable well-being, avoiding waste. A technology that always allows complete aesthetic coordination. At Hotel Monte Cervino, the Arké Classic wiring accessories series, in a total black look, with a linear profile and sharp corners, elegantly fits into the wooden cladding.
From the By-me Plus home automation system to the View Wireless connected system, with remote control via the View app, it is thus possible to monitor the structure from anywhere, through an intuitive and easy-to-use interface.
Thanks to Vimar technology, Monte Cervino Hotel can thus look to the future of hospitality without sacrificing the Alpine authenticity in telling its story.
