Layered, modular, and imposing. Metra by Ferroluce is a suspended architectural piece that translates the verticality of the city into a luminous object with a strong and distinctive character. Three geometric volumes overlap in an ascending rhythm, evoking the vertical landscape of large urban contexts, the rigor of fortified towers, and the monumental order of Fritz Lang’s imagined Metropolis.
Its hidden complexity stems from bold craftsmanship: each ceramic element is individually molded, with intricate casts where every surface is a separate component, allowing for polychrome finishes with glazes in different shades. This modularity is not just aesthetic but also functional: each individual volume can stand alone as a small linear pendant, enabling customized lighting configurations.
The grooved surfaces and ceramic finishes enhance the interplay of shadows and reflections, while the light is precisely directed downward with sculptural accuracy. Metra C2832 is more than just a lamp—it is an architectural lighting system, a modular construction that interacts with and adapts to its surrounding space.
