The new wing of the hospital in Chivasso, in the province of Turin, is clearly different from the pre-existing hospital structures. The historic building and the extension occupy the opposite ends of the site: the former, integrated into the consolidated urban fabric, has maintained its original architectural image; the latter overlooks an area of more recent urbanisation and adopts a remarkably modern style.
Spread over five floors with a catchment area of about 200,000 people, the new wing houses the emergency room, the blood collection centre, intensive care, neurology, general medicine and hospital pharmacy. Vimar‘s solutions perfectly fit into this modern and technologically advanced structure, in particular the modular Call-way emergency call system, ensuring patient requests are rapidly and effectively managed, simplifying the work of medical staff. In addition to improving operational efficiency, it allows attendance monitoring, response times, system status and staff availability, optimising the resources.
Designed in compliance with the VDE0834-1-2 standard, Call-way is completed here by the electrical system made with Plana Antibacterial: white techno polymer plates and a specific, but wide range of devices specially designed for hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, schools, etc., treated with silver ions to prevent the formation and proliferation of germs also due to contact and use of light points by several people and distinguished, thanks to laser engraving, with the inscription “+Antibacterial”. A treatment that has been tested on over 50 different species of bacteria, giving certified results: over 90% of the microbial load is eliminated within 24 hours. To ensure easy, precise and fast data transmission within the structure, the Netsafe fibre optic cabling system has been set up, a real multifunctional system at the service of the Call-way emergency call system to which are added, in the various departments, to improve communication and security, the Elvox CCTV video intercom and video surveillance systems; the latter, in particular, located in intensive care units, constantly monitors the patient’s state of health.
