BTicino technological partner for a LEED Gold certified building
BTicino, a point of reference in electrical and digital solutions, contributed to the construction of the new Marlegno’s headquarters through a complete supply of systems for energy distribution, protection and management. A large-scale project, designed to integrate technological innovation, environmental sustainability and construction quality. Marlegno is one of the leading Italian companies in the green building sector. Founded in 2000 in Bergamo, it is skilled in the construction of energy-efficient wooden structures for residential, industrial and public environments, integrating digital design, sustainability and innovation. The new headquarters in Calcinate represents the synthesis of its future-oriented industrial vision of sustainable construction. The complex includes an office and showroom structure on 2,100 square meters, and an Innovation Centre on 12,000 square meters and has a total area of 25,000 square meters.
The new seat has been designed to house management, production and innovation functions, requiring a reliable, safe and flexible electrical infrastructure over time. The goal was to ensure service continuity, high safety standards and efficient energy consumption control, in line with the requirements of a LEED Gold certified building. In this project, BTicino has created a complete plant supply, covering the entire electrical building infrastructure. From medium and low voltage to distribution, protection and continuity of service systems, up to supervision, automation and electric mobility solutions. An integrated intervention that guaranteed operational reliability, flexibility over time and consistency with sustainability objectives, significantly contributing to obtaining the project’s LEED Gold certification.
“The new headquarters represents a true flagship for us, and the expression of the state-of-the-art of today’s sustainable building. We wanted to generate a building able to combine maximum construction quality, high plant performance and user centrality, guaranteeing comfort and minimizing environmental impact,” said architect Andrea Seghezzi, Project Manager at Marlegno, “In this path, BTicino has proved to be an essential partner, in particular for the management of light and interior lighting, key elements for energy efficiency and well-being, also decisively contributing to obtaining the KNX 2025 Award as Best National Project”.
Architect Andrea Seghezzi supervised the works for Marlegno, in close contact with the property, while the BTicino team was led by Fabio Ambrosini. Elettrica Lorenzi of Calcinate took care of the installation. Architect Riccardo Minelli carried out the external envelope’s design.
That vision led the new Marlegno headquarters to win the award for best achievement at the KNX Italian Awards 2025, which enhances the excellence of home automation and building automation in Italy, rewarding design quality, technological innovation and buildings’ overall efficiency. At the base, KNX technology: an open international standard for building automation, which enables the integrated and intelligent management of lighting, air conditioning, security and energy. A flexible and scalable platform, evolving with and responding to the new needs of contemporary living and working.
