Light at Motion – Living the outdoor

Within the contemporary landscape of architectural lighting, Light At Motion has established itself as a recognized and authoritative presence, capable of interpreting light as a design material and a tool for enhancing the built environment. This vision emerges from the intersection of technological research, aesthetic sensitivity, and a deep understanding of architecture.

The company is distinguished by an advanced design approach, focused on innovation and uncompromising quality. Anticipating industry trends and responding to the evolving needs of contemporary living and public spaces involves developing lighting solutions that seamlessly combine aesthetics, technology, and functionality, transforming light into an active element of the project.

Through its brands LAM32 and minimuMaximum, Light At Motion offers lighting systems that go beyond the traditional concept of a luminaire, becoming expressive tools for architects, lighting designers, and planners worldwide. Each collection is conceived to engage in a dialogue with architecture, respecting its language while enhancing its perceptual and spatial value.

Technological research and sustainability are fundamental pillars of the company’s philosophy. High-performance LED solutions ensure energy efficiency, reliability, and precise light control, with a constant focus on minimizing environmental impact. Light is designed to adapt to the geometries of the space, highlighting materials, volumes, and architectural details.

A defining feature of Light At Motion is its ability to support professionals throughout the entire creative process. The company positions itself as a design partner, providing technical support, specialized consultancy, and customized solutions, born from a continuous dialogue between design, technology, and architectural vision.

The design of the collections is characterized by flexibility, elegance, and attention to detail. Lighting solutions do not simply illuminate spaces; they help define their identity, creating dynamic scenarios, calibrated contrasts, and evocative plays of light and shadow that add depth and movement.

This approach finds concrete application in the architectural exterior lighting project for the Scuola Primaria “Garibaldi” in Umbertide, a historic building constructed between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, now recognized as one of the city’s most emblematic school complexes.

Umbertide is a historic town located in Umbria, in the heart of central Italy, internationally renowned for its extraordinary artistic, architectural, and cultural heritage. Of medieval origin, Umbertide preserves an urban fabric rich in historical layers, where public buildings and civic architecture play a key role in shaping local identity.

Within this context, the Scuola Primaria “Garibaldi” represents an important urban and symbolic landmark, deeply connected to the collective memory and daily life of the community. The lighting upgrade forms part of a broader strategy to enhance public heritage, aimed at giving the building a renewed presence within the nocturnal urban landscape.

Light At Motion designed the new artistic exterior lighting, transforming light into a true architectural element. The high-efficiency LED system, characterized by low energy consumption and minimal environmental impact, was conceived to highlight the façade’s geometries, volumes, and architectural details, fully respecting the historical building and its urban context.

The use of programmable lighting scenarios and carefully controlled chromatic solutions allows the lighting to adapt to different applications, enhancing the perception of the building and strengthening the dialogue between architecture, public space, and the city.

This intervention was made possible through the collaboration with the Municipality of Umbertide and the various professional partners involved in the project, whose expertise and shared vision contributed to the successful outcome.

A project that embodies the philosophy of Light At Motion: living the outdoor through light, enhancing architecture and creating new perceptual experiences that connect history, place, and innovation.
