The Martinelli Luce suspension lamp designed by Studio Natural is awarded for versatility, ease of use and problem-solving capabilities
Martinelli Luce has received the prestigious Compasso d’Oro ADI International Award, established by ADI in 2014 as the international edition of the historic Italian design award. Organized in collaboration with the General Commissariat for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka, the award embraces the general theme of the event: “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.”
It is in this setting and in the Italian Pavilion at Expo that the Avro suspension lamp, designed by Studio Natural for Martinelli Luce, is awarded in the “Design for Lighting” category.
The international jury, chaired by Maite García Sanchis and composed of Luciano Galimberti, Yongqi Lou, Mario Vattani ans Matteo Vercelloni, justified its choice as follows: “Compasso d’Oro for designing a lamp that responds to the needs of hybrid spaces, offering a versatile solution that can be easily installed in existing interiors without the need for system modifications”.

Designed to support activities in both private and public spaces, the suspension lamp is equipped with an electrical outlet located at the bottom of the diffuser, which facilitates the use of devices that require electricity, such as tablets, computers, or cell phone chargers. In addition, thanks to the integrated dimmable LED and diffused light, it is possible to get the intensity of brightness that best suites any need, making a dining table the perfect office with a simple gesture.

With the granting of this award, the Avro suspension lamp becomes part of the Compasso d’Oro historical collection, located in the ADI Design Museum in Milan.
