Last but not least, the Ecodesign Directive for lighting (EU REGULATION 2019/2020) helps to simplify and unify the EU rules regarding lighting products. In addition to the introduction of new parameters, the previous elements and amendments of the Ecodesign legislation have been included in a single standard. The EPREL directive supports the EU’s commitment to ensuring safety and eco-sustainability for the entire lighting sector by using increasingly efficient devices complying with the guidelines. In particular, thanks to the collaboration with Vossloh-Schwabe, for which it is a distributor, MIV presented a series of 220Vac LED modules (both COB and SMD) with an integrated driver that fall within the strict limits imposed by the Ecodesign Directive, replacing the previous generation. That guarantees customers production continuity for luminaires designed for this kind of light source operation. For those using LED modules (COB and SMD) or LED strips combined with separate drivers, MIV offers complete Vossloh-Schwabe systems that, in addition to guaranteeing high energy efficiency, are synonymous with emitted light quality and long-term reliability.
The control system choice is essential in lighting management (with consequent benefits for energy saving and used devices), whether it is a small system – such as a single lamp – or a domestic environment, or large surfaces – such as production areas, commercial, and hospitality facilities. With constant updating and experience gained in the application and production field, MIV collaborates with its customers on designing, prototyping and, if required, programming, with final testing of the control system using the most suitable technology (Bluetooth, WI-FI, Dali, DMX, etc.).
