Indoor Hi-Quality Furniture: volatile pollutants emissions control and compliance with the main international regulations on VOCs. The aim is to provide concrete support to companies that aim to control the risk of potential harmful substances emissions (Formaldehyde and VOCs) from their products, so as to verify the products’ compliance with the requirements defined by the main European and international standards and regulations, such as LEED.
EU Formaldehyde: Formaldehyde in wood-based products. New European limits and solutions for compliance. The European Commission has introduced new restrictive measures to reduce exposure to formaldehyde, a substance classified as carcinogenic, present in numerous materials used in the Wood-Furniture sector. The new emission limits, set at the European level, pose a major challenge for manufacturers and suppliers, who will have to comply by 2026. In this context, COSMOB provides its technical expertise and laboratory infrastructure to support the compliance path through accredited tests and advanced control tools.
US Formaldehyde: Certification of compliance with CARB ATCM Phase II and U.S. EPA TSCA Title VI regulations. To export to the U.S., wood-based panel manufacturers must comply with the formaldehyde emission limits set by CARB ATCM Phase II and the U.S. EPA TSCA Title VI and be certified by a recognised third party (TPC). Cosmob is TPC-accredited (TPC-36) by CARB and EPA.
Indoor Hi-Quality CAM Construction: compliance verification with the indoor emission limits provided for by the CAM Building regulation. On December 3rd, 2025, the Ministerial Decree of 24.11.2025 was published in the Italian Gazzetta Ufficiale, adopting the minimum environmental criteria for the assignment of design services and works for building interventions in the Public Administration. The new construction CAMs update and replace the previous 2022 edition and officially came into force on February 2nd, 2026.
Furniture product circularity: Measuring circularity is essential to implement tangible and transparent strategies. With this in mind, Cosmob offers a product evaluation service based on the analysis of used resources and management throughout the entire life cycle. To export to the U.S., wood-based panel manufacturers must comply with formaldehyde emission limits set by CARB Phase II or EPA TSCA Title VI, certified by a recognised third party (TPC).
