The international tour kicks off in September.
The Salone del Mobile.Milano is embarking on its 65th edition: the international roadshow will set off in September, taking the Salone around the world ahead of its return to Rho Fiera Milano, scheduled from 13th to 18th April 2027. Taking in Europe, South East Asia, the Middle East, North and South America, the tour will provide an opportunity to meet industry professionals and the design community, while also previewing details of the new edition, including the return of the highly anticipated Euroluce exhibition and its second International Forum.
The tour will kick off in September in Jakarta with an exhibition of the SaloneSatellite Permanent Collection, featuring a selection of the top projects created by designers under 35 who have distinguished themselves through their creativity and experimental approach. This first event in the new season of the Salone is intended to showcase emerging talent by bringing it into dialogue with the worlds of business and culture. The global itinerary will continue by focusing on different themes and sectors, from one destination to the next, selected according to the characteristics of the countries and cities involved. Each stop will therefore become an opportunity to engage with local communities, gain closer insight into market developments and create new connections between the Salone and the foremost international design figures.
The Contract sector will be one of the key themes of the roadshow, taking centre stage in the thematic Salone Contract pavilion, curated for the 2027 edition by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, for the first time. Against this backdrop, Shanghai, an earlier destination on the Salone’s route in previous years, will provide an opportunity to explore the sector’s main dynamics in greater depth. Space will also be devoted to collectible design, unique pieces, limited editions and antiques, themes at the heart of Salone Raritas, the exhibition concept launched in 2026. Cities such as Mexico City and Cape Town will be tied up with this strand. The Salone tour will also take in overseas destinations such as Chicago, New York and Canada, before making its way to India.
This itinerary will serve to create a network of meaningful connections between companies, architects, designers and journalists, generating networking opportunities and collaborations that are relevant today while looking towards the future.
There will also be a number of revisitations, including Miami and Hong Kong during the Art Basel fairs. Following the three-year partnership launched in 2025, the Salone will create Collectors Lounges dedicated to internationally significant collectors. After the launch of the Red in Progress project in Riyadh, the Salone will return to the Saudi capital to continue the strategic collaboration established with the country.
The theme of light will also feature during the various stages of the tour in anticipation of the return of Euroluce 2027. Meetings with lighting studios and lighting designers are planned, providing opportunities to explore and discuss the latest developments and trends within the sector.
The first major confirmation for the 2027 edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano is the return of Euroluce. Now in its 33rd edition, the biennial event continues to uphold its position as the leading international platform for lighting design. The event will bring together the world’s leading brands, offering a commercial showcase of technological and innovative solutions that will redefine the relationship between light and space. The cultural programme will be further expanded with the return of the Euroluce International Lighting Forum, for its second edition. The event will bring together some of the most influential international figures in the field of lighting design and will serve as a hub of knowledge and innovation for the future of the discipline.
The event will be directed by Annalisa Rosso, Editorial Director and Cultural Advisor of Salone del Mobile, who also curated the first edition.
