A dynamic exhibition space where the idea of light takes shape and interacts with space
This is a unique project by Daylight Italia, designed by Architects Francesco Iannone and Serena Tellini, internationally recognized as “The Architects of Light”. Their vision and artistic direction guided every detail of this environment, conceived as a place of research, experimentation, and encounter. The concept draws inspiration from Anselm Kiefer’s monumental work “The Seven Heavenly Palaces” (2004–2015, HangarBicocca, Milan): a dialogue between matter, light, and spirituality, reflected here in a contemporary dimension tailored to the world of lighting design.
The showroom unfolds through two complementary dimensions: The inner area, a “shell” containing a multitude of different and combinable light sources, designed to be displayed, replaced, and related. In this space, the bulbs are the true protagonists, observed in their essence, purity, and expressive potential. The outer area is an ideal city built from stacked wooden pallets that become metaphorical “palaces.” From the gaps between the pallets, the light from the inner shell filters through, creating evocative plays of light and shadow on the walls and floor. The raw, imperfect texture of the wood contrasts with the elegance and refinement of the light sources, enhancing their beauty.
Inside the showroom, four main zones emerge:
The showroom is conceived as a dynamic, ever-changing space: modular tables and movable furniture allow for easy reconfiguration, adapting to different needs. It is a space that not only displays but lives and transforms, ready to host events, exhibitions, and collaborations with external partners. With the new Showroom, Daylight Italia aims to establish an ambitious goal: to open a direct dialogue with architects, designers, and industry professionals, the key figures who can fully appreciate and enhance its light sources.
It represents a journey of inspiration and research and a strategic channel, until now underdeveloped, that can fill a gap and stimulate decisive growth. In a constantly evolving market, we reaffirm Daylight’s mission: to be not only manufacturers, but creators and interpreters of light.
The new DL Showroom thus becomes a tangible manifesto of the Daylight Italia identity, a bridge between technology and art, functionality and emotion.
