During the Design Week Contardi Lighting announced the opening of Contardi Atelier, its Milan showroom following a major interior renovation led by Dainelli Studio. The new space represents the architectural translation of the company’s recent evolution in identity, as well as its new coordinated brand image, also conceived by the studio.
In the year marking its 20th anniversary, Contardi Lighting embarks on a new chapter that, through a comprehensive restoration process, reaffirms its position as an Italian excellence in the lighting sector. Conceived as an experiential environment, Contardi Atelier has been redesigned to enhance the relationship between light, material, and perception. The exhibition path unfolds through a series of lighting scenarios that interpret the aesthetic and design language now defining the brand, offering professionals and clients an engaging experience aligned with the company’s contemporary vision. The essential space, distinguished by a strong material presence, leaves the stage entirely to light, defining itself as a pure exhibition container. The choice of neutral color palettes reflects Dainelli Studio’s signature approach, also applied to the new catalogue and the overall restyling of the existing collections.
“Contardi Atelier represents the ultimate synthesis of the brand’s evolution. Space and light merge, becoming both a proposal and a solution for illumination. Today, Contardi Lighting’s new space in Milan expresses who we are and what we aspire to be,” states Massimo Brigandì, General Manager of Contardi Lighting.
The entrance, overlooking Corso Monforte, leads into the first room, defined by a warm, enveloping butter-toned hue, where a curated selection of indoor lamps perfectly celebrates the brand’s archi-decorative approach. A staircase then guides visitors to the basement—now opened to the public for the first time—where an anthracite palette creates a striking scenography showcasing the outdoor lighting collection. The atmosphere of pathos conceived by Dainelli Studio in these interiors evokes a twilight, intimate setting, where the lamps emerge as sculptural presences: essential volumes that diffuse a soft glow shaping surfaces and enhancing the materiality of the interiors. The result is a suspended environment, carefully calibrated to highlight the collection while suggesting a new vision of inhabited landscapes. Within this context, the material library takes shape: a substantial archive of materials and textures made available to designers and industry professionals, showcasing countless compositional possibilities and reaffirming the company’s bespoke, tailor-made ethos.
The project forms part of a broader renewal process undertaken by Contardi Lighting, which has recently updated its visual identity to more accurately reflect the company’s core values: artisanal quality, bespoke design, and technological innovation.
