Luce5 illuminates David Yurman’s luxury in Miami

Custom design, technological innovation, and craftsmanship: Luce5’s involvement in the new boutique of the American brand, in the heart of the Design District

Luce5 took part in the project for the creation of the new David Yurman jewellery store, located in the heart of the Miami Design District, internationally known for its ability to concentrate art, design and fashion in a single place. The architectural concept, developed by the Milanese studio Andrea Tognon Architecture, stands out for its sophisticated use of materials and a strong focus on the interaction between space, light and matter.

In this context, Luce5 took care of the lighting project and created the display cases and the signage, helping to shape an environment perfectly in tune with the brand’s identity, in which every element is designed to enhance the visual and sensory experience. At the basis of the project is customisation, a distinctive feature of Luce5 leader in the lighting design sector for custom creations. Particularly iconic is the signage standing out on the boutique façade: a technically designed artefact made by Luce5 as a result of a complex artisan process. The main body is hand-crafted, resin-coated, grouted, sanded and finished with a silver/chrome surface. Inside, a stainless-steel structure provides the necessary support to the protruding letters following the irregularities of the façade’s natural stone and extends outwards, with variable overhangs of up to almost two meters. A highly precise work that combines aesthetics, technique and structural solidness, in line with the distinctive concept of David Yurman’s brand.

For the interiors, Luce5 has designed and put in place a high-performance display system, where the “stepped wall” display cases and the customised wall showcase play a central role. Every detail has been carefully managed to grant maximum visibility to the jewels and to harmoniously integrate them into the environment.

The wall-mounted display cabinets stand out for their curved glass, giving an elegant and fluid appearance, and by a triple lighting system designed to evenly distribute light:

  • LED strips for diffused and discreet light
  • Fixed spots to highlight the main pieces
  • Adjustable spotlights with a ball mechanism, to precisely direct the light beam.

The system is completed with telescopic linear guides, which allow smooth and precise adjustments of the moving elements, simplifying access and maintenance operations. On the other hand, the “stepped wall” display cases offer a multi-level composition that creates a scenic visual impact, enhancing the spatial depth. The structures are made of anodised aluminium or painted steel, with laminated safety glass. Back panels can be customised in different finishes, including backlit. The result is a setting that boosts the jewel’s preciousness with elegance, balance and attention to detail.

With this project, Luce5 confirms its ability to offer tailor-made solutions for the luxury world, combining technological know-how with craftsmanship, at the service of architectural companies and internationally renowned brands.
