Technology, design and home automation for the Grand Hotel Victoria in Menaggio

25 November 2021

After two years of restructuring and expansions, the Grand Hotel Victoria Concept & SPA in Menaggio has recently reopened. The goal of the property was to create a place where history and tradition could meet comfort and modernity, preserving and enhancing, thanks to a careful renovation, the high ceilings, windows and stuccoes of the Historic Villa but at the same time offering guests contemporary design and functionality. The project, signed by the architect Franco Pè, is the context in which BTicino has entered, with the development of the electrical system, the hardware and aesthetic home automation, and providing commercial, logistical and technical support.

“In the hotel sector, BTicino’s distinctive features are versatility, allowing to adapt the home automation system to any accommodation facility, and the sophisticated, elegant design of the finishes proper of a five-stars hotel”, explains Diego Bionda, BTicino Marketing Department. “The technology applied at the Grand Hotel Victoria is strongly integrated. The management system of all the functions of the rooms guarantees hotel staff and guests complete control and maximum comfort”.

The rooms are all equipped with a home automation system: touch screen, lighting control, curtain automation, sound diffusion and thermoregulation. The interfaces, all in touch technology, include the RFID reader out of the door, the badge pocket and the temperature sensors that guarantee the best comfort for the guest. In addition, there are scenario commands in the room. As for the aesthetics of the plates, the Living Now line was chosen, in the sand finish, for the historic villa housing 34 rooms plus an attic floor. The new 47-rooms “Palazzo” building has a more contemporary design with a black finish.

Here again, the perfect application for the Living Now line, for its clean design and rigorous geometries. A unique and distinctive shape, with surface flatness and alignment between the various elements of the light point. A synthesis of aesthetic, functional and technological evolution that transforms the switch into a control interface. The light can be switched on or off by pressing any point on the key’s surface, which, once activated, returns to position while always remaining perfectly aligned. The BTicino product lines installed are low and medium voltage switchboards, transformers, UPS, cabling, structured wiring, Guest Room Management premium, sound diffusion, Living Now series.
