2026 marks a fundamental chapter in Design Luce’s history. In fact, it celebrates 25 years of activity with a further ambitious and strongly desired goal: the first official participation in the Milan Design Week, in the prestigious setting of the Brera Design District.
This debut represents not only a showcase but the crowning achievement of a journey that began a quarter of a century ago, based on a philosophy that has become the trademark of the Florentine company: total customisation. In Design Luce, indeed, light is not a standard product, but almost a tailored suit. It can create solutions “down to the centimetre”, offering absolute design freedom ranging from the profile size, with cuts to the centimetre, up to a palette of 20 finishes in the catalogue, to allow every architect, interior designer and designer to shape the space without compromise.
On the occasion of the Design Week, Design Luce presented a selection of lighting systems that embody the innate ability to combine contemporary aesthetics and technical precision.
Virgola: more than just a handrail, Virgola is a luminous architectural element that redefines the concept of safety and style. Its shape, as the name suggests, resembles a “comma”. Featured by a light and discreet design, it offers a double emission (direct and indirect) that integrates harmoniously into historical or modern contexts. The quality of the project is evidenced by the prestigious nomination for the Compasso d'Oro. During the design week, in addition to being the protagonist in the Brera space, Virgola was also exhibited at the ADI Design Museum in Piazza del Compasso d'Oro, confirming itself as an icon of contemporary design.
Sartidato: born from the challenge of bringing light exactly where it is needed, starting from a single point, Snodato is a modular system based on a perfectly symmetrical aluminium extrusion. The heart of the project is its flexible and electrified joint, which allows you to create infinite geometries. It is not just a technical junction, but an aesthetic fulcrum that gives dynamism and elegance to compositions that become true light installations.
Pitti: on the other hand, Pitti transcends the definition of a floor lamp to become a true graphic sign in space. Its slender stem houses a diffused bi-emission light, to which is added a scenographic component: 6 adjustable spotlights integrated into the structure. This “dynamic task” allows for combining a soft ambient glow with precise accents, ideal for enhancing works of art or architectural details.
Vertical: a “full-height” lamp that challenges vertical space up to 320 centimetres. Thanks to its spring-loaded composition mechanism, Vertical fits with millimetre precision between floor and ceiling. The circular body emits light on only 50% of its surface through an opal methacrylate diffuser, generating a fascinating combination of light and shadow that shapes the surrounding atmosphere.
Color: where the essential wall-mounted aluminium extrusion meets the creativity of colour. The peculiarity of Color lies in the visual play of the headboards, which can be customised with different finishes than the external profile. A refined but powerful detail that transforms a minimal profile into an element with a strong decorative identity.
Vela: inspired by nautical lightness, Vela is a rectangular profile supported by a tie rod that recalls its iconic shape. The 180° adjustable arm on the horizontal level allows for directing the luminous flux with extreme ease, thus combining a small footprint with great versatility.
